Would You Like to Take a Survey?

Columbia Heights is asking residents to take a survey.

How do you rate Columbia Heights as a livable community?  Do you think the police and fire are doing a great job or is there room for improvement?  How are the city streets?  What is your opinion about city parks and trails?  Did last year's snowstorms show how great our city's snowplows were or are you still trying to correct damage from the city plows?

Twice a month, residents can come before the city council at the council meeting and voice opinions about any topic.  Is this done?  Rarely.  As a council, we don't really know what a large group of residents think until the next election comes around and candidates knock on doors.

How do you feel that the City of Columbia Heights is performing its duties?  In the past the city would have to pay thousands of dollars to hire a company to call residents, ask them questions, and then compile the data to present to the city.  Thanks to modern technology and cooperation between Columbia Heights and the League of Minnesota Cities residents are able to fill out an online survey.  When you check out the survey it asks you to rate the city in areas such as appearance, safety, and quality of services.

There is room for comments after each question.  The comment section could be used to clarify you answer or it could be used to add more of your thoughts on what is working in Columbia Heights and what isn't working.

The survey is fairly simple and easy to navigate.  If you know of residents who would like to take the survey but do not have internet access, let them use your computer or send them over to the Columbia Heights Library where they can use a public computer.

The city really does want to hear from you.  The survey is available on the city website until December 10.  The survey is only worth the time if people take part so please take the time to participate.
