Church Organist to Play Piano with Silent Vampire Film, 'Nosferatu'

Daniel Lloyd performs his original score Sunday at the Minneapolis Institute of Arts.

Daniel Lloyd has been the organist at St. Timothy's Lutheran Church in Columbia Heights since he was 15 years old. Along with his duties as Worship Leader at St. Tim's, he has had numerous positions and many amazing experiences over the years.

As a youth, he studied organ under Dr. Heinrich Fleischer, who was a direct descendant of Martin Luther. While at the University of Minnesota, he was recommended for a Fullbright Scholarship to study musicology in Germany. In 1967 he was the youngest pianist ever hired to work with the famous Apollo Club Men's Chorus.

Since 1978, Daniel has been involved with the Minneapolis Institute of Arts as a performer and a lecturer. Every week, the St. Timothy's congregation gets a 'free' concert from Daniel, on the organ or piano as they are coming into the worship service and as they are leaving.
