Minneapolis Agent Recognized for Outstanding Volunteerism

The Allstate Foundation Grants $1000 to People Serving People Inc

MINNEAPOLIS, MN., March 17, 2014 – Allstate agency owner John Wenholz received the Agency Hands in the Community Award for his commitment to helping others. With this award came a $1000 grant from The Allstate Foundation for the People Serving People Inc in Minneapolis, where Wenholz volunteers. People Serving People achieves its mission and goals by providing emergency housing and community services that assist families experiencing homelessness in becoming self-sufficient and reconnected with the community.

Allstate agents and employees have a proud history of putting their good hands to work in supporting Minnesota communities, promoting volunteerism and providing financial resources to enable local organizations to help others.

 

“The Agency Hands in the Community Award celebrates the spirit of service. Commitment to our communities is a natural extension of what we do every day – protecting people and making their lives more secure,” said Shaundra Turner, director of The Allstate Foundation in Minnesota. “With support from The Allstate Foundation, John Wenholz and People Serving People Inc is making our hometown a better, safer place to live.”

 

The Allstate Foundation awards more than $1 million every year to nonprofit organizations across the country in honor of dedicated Allstate agency owners who give back. To be eligible for nomination, Allstate agency owners must with volunteer, mentor or lead a nonprofit of their choice.
