Viewfinder: Cummins Shows Off New Generator Production Line

Cummins Power Generation will add 90 jobs at its Fridley plant to make generators for the U.S. military.

Cummins Power Generation announced Feb. 26 that it will add 90 jobs at its Fridley headquarters plant to produce new high-efficiency generators for the U.S. Army. The announcement attracted government officials from Fridley Mayor Scott Lund to U.S. Reps. Keith Ellison and Betty McCollum. The company is set to produce 2,160 AMMPS generators in 2011, starting with 100 in April and 180 in May. Cummins employs about 1,600 people in the Twin Cities.
