Ribbons Get Cut When Fridley Businesses Remodel

Last month, LivInn Suites had the honor from the Metro North Chamber of Commerce. Friday, it's Sam's Club's turn.

When Fridley businesses make big improvements, it's a reason to celebrate.

Last month the Metro North Chamber of Commerce brought the party to LivInn Suites, where major renovations turned the pool area into a garden court suitable for event rentals, and other improvements touched every room. (See photos from that event.)

The Metro North Chamber is throwing another ribbon-cutting event Friday at Sam's Club:

A short program will begin at 9 a.m., including a demonstration from the VFW Colorguard, the singing of our National Anthem and a performance by Mrs. Minnesota.  The ribbon cutting will immediately follow that short program.

Sam's Club club manager, Brad Frayton, explained in a statement the changes at the store:

Continuing its commitment to the area, the Fridley Sam’s Club is celebrating the completion of a major renovation, the most extensive in the club’s nearly 22-year history. Mayor Scott Lund and Twin Cities North Chamber of Commerce officials will be on hand for the special ceremony on Friday, Nov. 30 at 9 a.m.

The club now features a gas station and expanded bakery, meat and produce departments.

The Fridley Sam’s Club will look to continue its support of the community well into the future. In the past year, the Club has donated over $20,000 total and countless hours of time to numerous community organizations, including Feed my Starving Children, Free to Be, the National MS Society, and the Children’s Safety Center.
