No Lines but Fridley Target Moves Missoni

The local store doesn't have many designer items left.

did not have lines of customers waiting for the store to open at 8 a.m. as other Targets did Tuesday.

But a special line of Missoni designer products with a trademark zigzag pattern were "moving really, really fast," according to Keefe Bauschelt, executive team leader at the store.

Luggage was particularly popular at the Fridley store, with women's and children's clothes and home goods such as plates and dishes also "hot items," he said.

Fridley still had Missoni items Tuesday evening, according to a shopper's tweet.

Company spokeswoman Jessica Deede said she didn't expect Fridley's other Target facility, the distribution center near Hwy. 65 and 73rd Avenue NE, to see increased business because of the rush on Missoni products.

It was a one-time sale, Deede said, so stores won't be receiving a continuing supply of the products. Shoppers may find Missoni items stores again—but only as other customers make returns, for instance, on things that don't fit.
