New Generators Fuel Growth at Cummins' Fridley Plant

The company expects a production boom from new generators.

The president of Cummins Power Generation is predicting record-breaking production thanks to new generators for small commercial and residential properties that use natural gas or liquid propane, the Star Tribune reported.

The operating division of Cummins has hundreds of workers in Fridley and Shoreview. President Tony Satterthwaite said the Fridley plant should see more than $1 billion in production value following $100 million in capital investments the company poured into Minnesota over the past four years.

The new family of generators were “conceived and birthed” in Fridley, according to the Star Tribune.
