In 2012, Fridley Patch readers voted the Shortstop as the best place in the city to spend March Madness. Other options in the poll were Two Stooges Sports Bar & Grill, Broadway Bar & Pizza, Applebee's Neighborhood Grill & Bar, Marino's/American Legion, Chris and Rob's Chicago Taste Authority, GB Leighton's Pickle Park, The Shorewood Bar and Grill, and VFW Post 363.
