Owl in the Yard

Sunday, June 23, from 1-3 p.m., at Eastman Nature Center, inElm Creek Park Reserve, Maple Grove. Stop by to visit our resident great horned owl. Examine owl artifacts and hear their calls. Bring a camera for close-up shots. This program is free and open to all ages.

Free Family Fun Day: Dragonflies

Sunday, June 23, from 1-3 p.m., at Kroening Interpretive Center, in North Mississippi Regional Park, Minneapolis. Have fun catching and identifying them in the prairie and open field. The data collected will be submitted to the Minnesota Odonata Survey Project, a statewide dragonfly monitoring effort. This program is free and open to all ages.

Sundays in the Garden

Sunday, June 23, from 1-4 p.m., at Noerenberg Memorial Gardens, Orono. Spend a Sunday afternoon at Noerenberg Gardens. Hennepin County master gardeners will give tours and answer questions. This program is free and open to all ages.

Walk with an Artist

Sunday, June 23, from 2-3 p.m., at Silverwood Park, St. Anthony. Stop in to meet Silverwood’s gallery coordinator for a look at our current show and a chance to discover more about the artists who have contributed work to the park. Head outside for an artist-led walk to explore the park’s sculptures. This program is free and open to all ages.

Free Family Fun Day: Remarkable Reptiles

Sunday, June 23, from 3-4 p.m., at Richardson Nature Center, inHyland Lake Park Reserve, Bloomington. Touch a scaly snake, feel a turtle’s shell, and watch these reptiles move. Cameras are welcome. This program is free and open to all ages.

Saturday Morning on the Farm

Saturday, June 29, from 9:30 a.m.-noon, at Gale Woods Farm, Minnetrista. Explore the Gale Woods Farm barn where you can meet animals, assist a Gale Woods farmer with chores, and participate in other seasonal farm activities. Cost is $5 and this program is open to all ages.

Make Your Own! Jams and Jellies

Saturday, June 29, from 12:30-3 p.m., at Gale Woods Farm, Minnetrista. Learn the basics of homemade jams and jellies. This is not a drop-off program; adults also pay the program fee. Cost is $8 and reservations are required by June 28. Call 763-559-6700 to make a reservation and reference activity number #337411-01. This program is for ages 3+.

Grimm Farmhouse Open House

Saturday, June 29, from 1-4 p.m., at Grimm Farm, in Carver Park Reserve, Victoria. Step back in time and explore Wendelin Grimm’s farm.  See the restored 1870s house and fields where Grimm, a German immigrant, experimented with his alfalfa. Experience hands-on work and play of a late 1800s Minnesota farm. This program is free and open to all ages.

Free Family Fun Day: Frogs

Sunday, June 30, from 1-3 p.m., at Kroening Interpretive Center, in North Mississippi Regional Park, Minneapolis. How far does a frog jump? Can you call like a frog?  See if you can do the Frog Walk Challenge. This program is free and open to all ages.

Feeding Frenzy

Sunday, June 30, from 1-3 p.m., at Eastman Nature Center, inElm Creek Park Reserve, Maple Grove. Look on as the salamander snacks, turtles taste, and frogs feed.  Different animals will be fed throughout the afternoon. Bring a camera! Drop in anytime. This program is free and open to all ages.
