When Does Daylight Savings Time End in 2012?

These dark mornings have you wondering: When does Daylight Savings Time end?

Your 7:30 a.m. commute is going to get darker before it gets lighter. Officially, Daylight Savings Time doesn’t end for a couple more weeks—at 2 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 4, 2012.

Remember, you’ll “fall back” that night and set your clocks back one hour. Many electronic devices automatically adjust when Daylight Savings Time begins or ends.

When you change your clocks in the fall and spring, it’s also a good time to change smoke detector batteries and check that the devices are in working order.

That wasn't the case in two-thirds of the Fridley homes the Fridley Fire Department visited as part of a recent Fire Prevention Week promotion with Domino's pizza delivery. According to Fridley Fire Chief John Berg:

The Domino’s Fire Prevention Promotion went well but, the results were not good for the number of people with working detectors. The Firefighters went with Domino’s to six homes and only two had working smoke detectors. In two cases firefighters provided working smoke detectors and in the other two homes batteries in the some detectors were replaced by firefighters.
