National Weather Service Issues Severe Thunderstorm Warning, Tornado Watch for Anoka County
The tornado watch is in effect until 9 p.m. Sunday, May 19.
The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for southeastern Anoka County through 4:15 p.m. and a tornado watch through 9 p.m. for all of Anoka County.

Thunderstorms with heavy rain and hail are forecast throughout the night with the potential for high winds and hail.

The Twin Cities National Weather Service wrote:
THE TORNADO WATCH AREA IS APPROXIMATELY ALONG AND 105 STATUTE MILES EAST AND WEST OF A LINE FROM 70 MILES NORTH NORTHEAST OF REDWOOD FALLS MINNESOTA TO 25 MILES SOUTH SOUTHEAST OF WATERLOO IOWA.

A TORNADO WATCH MEANS CONDITIONS ARE FAVORABLE FOR TORNADOES AND SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS IN AND CLOSE TO THE WATCH AREA. PERSONS IN THESE AREAS SHOULD BE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR THREATENING WEATHER CONDITIONS AND LISTEN FOR LATER STATEMENTS AND POSSIBLE WARNINGS.'
