Three local icons featured: Springbrook Nature Center, Banfill-Locke Center for the Arts and the Northstar train.

Here is the new button design for the 2013 Fridley 49er Days festival, unveiled at about 8 a.m. Monday at the Fridley 49er Days Committee's Facebook page.

In January, the committee dropped some hints on their Facebook page about this year's festival:

It appears that there may be some changes coming this year. The parade will be June 27th -- a week later than normal, and once again the location will be different in 2013. We hope to bring in a carnival and again have Chris Brookes and his band perform. Details will be updated as they are finalized.

We're working on the classics you've come to love, bringing back some past favorites, and adding some NEW events that is sure to create a HUGE buzz!
