Get Out: It's Summer in Fridley, Finally

Fridley's weekend entertainment guide to animals, outdoor art and more.

A summer weekend has finally arrived and Fridley Patch is here to make sure you get out of the house.


When: Saturday, June 4 at 7 p.m.
Where: Oak Hill Baptist Church (4141 University Ave. NE, Columbia Heights)
Why Go: Enjoy a contemporary Christian worship service followed by a Q&A session.
Price: Free


When: Saturday, June 4 and Sunday, June 5 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Where: Petco (7625 Jolly Ln., Brooklyn Park)
Why Go: If you’re looking for a new furry family member, several rescue groups and shelters from around Minnesota will have dogs and cats looking to be adopted .
Price: Free


When: Saturday, June 4 at 8:55 p.m. to Sunday, June 5 at 5:30 a.m.
Where:  Various locations in the Twin Cities including Upper Landing Park in St. Paul, Stone Arch Bridge in Minneapolis, Central Avenue Bridge at the East Bank Underpass, Walker Art Center Lawn, and Loring Park
Why Go: Spend the night mesmerized by art displays you’ll most likely never get the chance to see again, including the vision of a white horse galloping down the Mississippi River.

Why Go: If birding is your bag, don’t pass up the opportunity to help catch, band and release birds for research.

Why Go: Community members are invited to explore the dramatic changes of the remodeling project.
