Get Out: Tower Days, a Reading and More

Spring Lake Park's Tower Days begin Thursday with a parade.

Thursday: the one day Fridley Patch loves telling you what to do.


When: Thursday, June 9 through Sunday, June 12
Where: Lakeside Lions Park (Pleasant View Drive NE and 79th Ave NE)
Why Go: Enjoy a weekend filled with street dances, carnival games, fireworks and more. Parade is Thursday, 7 p.m., beginning at 81st and Able streets, north on Able to 84th, west on 84th to Monroe, south on Monroe to 79th, and east on 79th to Able Street
Price: Most activities are free with the purchase of a $3 Tower Days Participation Button

Why Go: Hear from authors Catherine Holm of “My Heart is Mountain: Tales of Magic and the Land" and Su Smallen of “Weight of Light”.

Where: Any fishing location in the state of Minnesota.
Why Go: Every Minnesotan should experience one of the state’s favorite hobbies at least once.
Price: Adults can fish without a license while accompanying a child 15 years or younger.

When: Saturday, June 11 at 9 a.m.; registration begins at 7:30 a.m.
Where: Father Hennepin Park (on the north side of the Stone Arch Bridge in Minneapolis)
Why Go: Join in the fun fitness event with or without your favorite pooch.
Price: $40 on race day


When: Saturday, June 11, from 10 to 11 a.m.
