At Last! One Stretch of I-694 Construction Work Finished Now

However, some restrictions still reman on westbound I-694.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT)  reports that all eastbound lanes are now open on I-694, from Highway 100 in Brooklyn Center and I-35W in Arden Hills.
The state agency noted that all traffic restrictions on this section of I-694 were lifted overnight (Thursday into Friday morning). The announcement comes after er a few months of road construction work there. 
In a news release, MnDOT officials said, "Along with the roadway opening overnight, the following ramps and loops also reopened to traffic:

  •  Eastbound I-94 to eastbound I-694.
  •  Westbound I-94/northbound Hwy 252 to eastbound I-694.
  •  Eastbound I-694 to Hwy 252.
  •  Southbound Hwy 252 to eastbound I-694.
  •  Eastbound I-694 to East River Road.
  •  Eastbound I-694 to southbound University Avenue (Highway 47).

Meanwhile, MnDOT noted, "Concrete pavement repair continues on the westbound lanes of the interstate and traffic is restricted to two lanes during the daytime and a single lane overnight between I-35W and East River Road until mid-November.

 As part of work on the westbound lanes, the ramp from Long Lake Road to westbound I-694 will close at 9 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 29 and remain closed until early November. Weather permitting, work will be complete by mid-November."
