SUBJECT:                 OEC (Opportunities in Emergency Care) classes offered at Spring Lake Park High School

 

 

OEC  (Opportunities in Emergency Care) is an award-winning medical “magnet school” education program.  We offer extensive opportunities to students interested in serving others in the healthcare field.  EMS (Emergency Medical Services) programs are available to regional high school students and as continuing education for adults.

 

Students can learn basic First Aid, or become fully prepared for pursuing careers in clinics, hospitals, nursing homes, in-home healthcare, ambulance services, fire departments, etc. through our First Aid & CPR, EMR (Emergency Medical Responder), EMT (Emergency Medical Technician), NA-R (Nursing Assistant – Registered), Self Defense and Medical Internship programs.

 

Students can earn college credits and/or their NREMT (National Registry Emergency Medical Technician) certification, which enables them to pursue careers in various EMS and healthcare professions.

 

Available Articulated College Credit:  EMT – 9 credits;   EMR – 4 credits;   NA – 4 credits                             

Based in Spring Lake Park High School, we educate in-district, as well as out-of-district students from many other regional high schools such as: Blaine, Centennial, Fridley, Homeschoolers, Irondale, Mounds View, Totino-Grace to name a few. 

 

HURRY: 2014/2015 class registration is scheduled for February 18 – 21, 2014.
