Eastbound I-694 Ramp to Highway 65 (Central Avenue) Opens in Fridley

The ramp from eastbound I-694 to Highway 47 (University Avenue) will close starting the evening of Tuesday, Sept. 3, according to MnDOT.

Interstate 694 commuters should get some relief after the reopening of the eastbound I-694 ramp to Highway 65 (Central Avenue) in Fridley Tuesday.

However, at the same time, the ramp from eastbound I-694 to Highway 47 (University Avenue) will close  starting the evening of Tuesday, Sept. 3 for approximately 10 days and the ramp from East River Road to eastbound I-694 will close Wednesday night, Sept. 4 until mid-September.

A short-term closure also is planned for Wednesday, Sept. 4 on the ramps from eastbound I-694 to Silver Lake Road and Silver Lake Road to eastbound I-694. The two ramps will be closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for diamond grinding. The procedure will smooth the surface of the new concrete pavement on the ramps.

The ramps between I-694 and Long Lake Road reopened to traffic on Friday night, Aug. 30.

Motorists should watch for lane and ramp closures and follow detour signs during concrete pavement repair, storm sewer improvements and bridge repairs along the I-694 Corridor between I-35W in Arden Hills and Highway 100 in Brooklyn Center.

Work is expected to be complete in early November.
