Which Fridley Streets in Line for Rehab in 2013?

Resolution on next year's street reconstruction is at city council Monday night.

Even before summer 2012 is over, planning is underway for rebuilding Fridley roads in 2013. The Fridley City Council will take up a resolution concerning four road-rebuild projects at its regular meeting Monday:

  • Flanery Park/Meadowmore Terrace neighborhoods: from Old Central Avenue to the eastern city limits, and from 73rd Avenue to the northern City limits (estimated at 3.4 miles total)
  • North commercial/industrial area: from University Avenue to the BNSF railroad, and from 73rd to 83rd Avenue (estimated at 2.9 miles; was deferred from the 2011 street project)
  • 69th Avenue: from Old Central to the eastern city limits (estimated at half a mile; rail crossing upgrade due in 2013 as well)
  • Jackson Street: from 73rd Avenue to Osborne Road (a portion was proposed to be rebuilt in a petition received by residents in January 2012)

See the full city council meeting agenda in the PDF with this post (street project maps are on pages 54 and 55 of the PDF). The meeting starts at 7:30 p.m. at Fridley City Hall. It is open for anyone to attend. You can also watch live or replayed on cable TV or on online archived video.

They put new gravel on Dellwood Drive and Pierce streets and it looks horrible. The car tires have made black indents in the gravel. These streets need to be redone.

Hmm, HeidiJ, do you think it's supposed to get better as the gravel gets more evenly worn down?
