From Donna Schmitt: "Many of us have fathers, mothers or sons and daughters that have fought for our freedom. Today, take the time to thank those who have served our country. If you have time, please join us for the annual VFW/City Day of Remembrance. The City of Columbia Heights and the local VFW will be presenting their annual Memorial Day Service starting at 11:30 a.m. at the flagpole around the city hall. Bring a lawn chair as it will be outdoors. (Some chairs will be available.) Take the time to sit and visit with a vet. Listen to their stories. Thank them for their service. Please join us for this annual event."
