Viewfinder: Hawk Has Hankering for Squirrels at Springbrook Nature Center

A resident red-tailed hawk at Springbrook Nature Center likes to gobble up gray squirrels. But on Tuesday there was no free lunch.

There is daily drama at the feeding area in front of the big windows at Springbrook Nature Center's visitors center. While cardinals and squirrels munch from feeding tables and bird feeders, a red-tailed hawk keeps watch, waiting for the right moment to swoop down and snatch a squirrel for lunch.
