Fridley Mayor Scott Lund recalled Monday that less was known about contamination before 1984, when federal and state agencies started focusing on environmental issues.

"I have a great concern here too," he said. "I live here and so does my family, and I drink the wayer and I breathe the air and any of the other contaminations that might have been present or could be present."

Lund sat down for an interview with Patch Monday afternoon at Fridley City Hall. This is the second of several Patch posts from the interview with Lund. In this segment, the mayor mentions the pollutant TCE and Fridley Superfund sites.

Thank you Patch and Mayor Lund. I appreciate both the questions and the answers about this subject, and I look forward to more of the interview -- and hopefully hear more about other things that are going on in Fridley as well!
