Today is Veterans Day—a perfect time to thank and remember an important veteran in your life.

Maybe your son or grandson is serving currently, or maybe a grandparent served years ago. Perhaps a loved one even lost his or her life while serving this country.

Whatever your connection, we'd like to see your notes of gratitude. Simply post a comment at the end of this story. You can also submit a photo of a special veteran in your life by clicking the green button below (please include the veteran's name, your relationship to him or her, and when and where he or she served).

Patch thanks those who have served, and those who share stories with us.

Thank you to my good friend Jake Rappe for bravely serving for five years in the Army. Our photo is right after he returned from boot camp. The first time I ever saw him in uniform. Thank you to all of those who have served and are currently serving.

Great tribute. Thanks, Patch.
Thanks Mike for posting the picture of Grandpa Ollie. He was proud to wear the uniform of the U.S. Army during WWII.
