Terry Ventura to Host Fridley Fundraiser for Wishes & More

Former Minnesota First Lady Terry Ventura will again host a fundraising event Tuesday night at the to support Wishes & More, a Fridley nonprofit that serves children with life-threatening or terminal illnesses.

The proceeds from the $50-a-plate, wine-and-cigar fundraiser ($65 at the door) will go toward purchasing a new car for a Shorewood teenager who was diagnosed with rhabdomyosarcoma, a cancer related to the skeletal system, shortly before her high school graduation.

The fundraiser will be from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and include appetizers, wine, cigars, and music by the Cedar Avenue Big Band.

Ventura, wife of professional wrestler-turned-Minnesota Gov. Jesse Ventura, also hosted a fundraiser at the Shoreview for Wishes & More in July 2010.
