Fridley High School was the scene for four basketball matchups with St. Paul's Highland Park Tuesday: varsity and JV, boys and girls. Like the other home squads, Fridley's varsity boys (0-4) lost to the Scots, although they led out of the gate.

The final, 59-50, reflected a hard-fought contest in which Fridley showed improvement over their first home game, a 13-point loss to Minneapolis Southwest Dec. 2. But in the end the Tigers couldn't hold off Highland Park as Columbia Heights' boys did last week.
