The Fridley Police Department has issued a crime alert following what they describe as the first-degree burglary of a home Wednesday evening in the 1300 block of Hillcrest Drive, just east of Moore Lake

A resident returning home noticed moved or missing items and heard voices and other sounds of people upstairs, according to the alert. The resident immediately left the house, which police said is the right thing to do in that situation.

After apparently forcing open a patio door, the burglar or burglars took items including video game systems, laptop computers, a TV and a computer monitor, police said.

Police have made no arrests. If you have any information about this incident, call 9-1-1 and ask to speak to Fridley Police.

The crime alert contains safety tips to help prevent burglaries, including keeping your home as secure as you can and having a dog.
