The Fridley Police Department said in a Marion Hills neighborhood crime alert that someone broke into a residence Wednesday in the 5500 block of Fillmore Street NE, across from North Park Elementary School.

The burglary took place between 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., according to police. The resident reported missing items including two laptop computers, money, medication and a pocket watch. No one has been arrested; police are investigating.

• Put in locking bars for patio doors
• Keep doors and windows locked
• Install alarms on windows and doors
• Mount motion-detection lights out of easy reach
• Lock vehicles inside locked garages
• Get a dog
• Call 9-1-1 if you suspect a break-in
