Primary elections decide which candidates will appear on the General Election ballots in November. Contested primary elections for partisan offices are those for which two or more candidates from one political party have filed for office. (Voters registered with a political party choose among that party's candidates for partisan offices.) Contested primary elections for non-partisan offices are those for which more than two candidates have filed.
- Fridley City Councilmember at Large (on all ballots in the city of Fridley)
- District 13 School Board (on all ballots in the Columbia Heights School District, which includes parts of Fridley)
