'Minnesota Style' parody of 'Gangnam Style' video

Fridley YouTube maestro Luke "Mippey5" Thompson has struck again with a popular Minnesota-themed music-video parody.

Minnesota Style, a takeoff on the viral Korean Gangnam Style rap video, has had 115,000 views on YouTube in the five days since Thompson posted it Sept. 18, 2012. (The original Gangnam Style YouTube video is not doing too shabby, with 263 million views in two months.)

Thompson, known on YouTube as Mippey5, includes a snippet of his 2010 Minnesota Gurls Katy Perry parody song that went viral (2.2 million views and counting) and put Thompson—and Fridley—on the YouTube map.

Minnesota Style is mostly shot at landmark spots around downtown Minneapolis but may include a few Fridley locations (such as the playground and bike path scenes).

Fridley frequently shows up in Thompson's weekly videos and had a title role in his 'Welcome to My Hood' parody.
