Investigation into 'Suspicious Incident' at Terrace Park Continues
Fridley police conducting interviews, verifying information.
Investigators continue to probe what Fridley police call a "suspicious incident" in which they say a man tried to get a child to enter a van at Terrace Park, 6735 Seventh St. NE.
Lt. Mike Monsrud said by email Monday morning that because the incident remains under investigtion he couldn't comment beyond this:
We are treating this as suspicious activity at this time. We are in the process of verifying some information and doing some follow-up interviews.
According to a crime alert police issued to the public:
The report states a juvenile was at the Terrace Park drinking fountain located on the 7th St. side of the park. A white male inside a green delivery van parked on 7th St. began to make statements, such as "I know your mom, she told me to give you a ride home." The juvenile did not respond and walked towards the middle of the park and the van drove away. The juvenile then went home and reported the incident. ...
If you have information pertaining to a green delivery type van in the area please dial 9-1-1 and ask to speak with a Fridley Officer.

White Male medium build, in his 20's
Short Dark Hair, deep voice.

Van, rounded roof top.
Van had a Driver & passenger door, & 2 back cargo doors no side doors.
Medium Green in color & no advertising

Does anyone know if address of park is correct? I live in spring lake park and have terrace park across the street

Leslie, this Terrace Park is in Fridley, and the address is correct. The park you're thinking about is Terrace Park in Spring Lake Park on Terrace between Osborne and 79th.
