How Are the Roads? Crowded and Icy, or Nice and Easy?
Conditions for driving and walking were tough in many places around Fridley after more than a foot of snow in chilly temps. Share your experiences, opinions or photos.
It hasn't exactly been smooth sailing on roads and streets in and around Fridley since Sunday's storm dumped more than a foot of snow on the Twin Cities.
Or considering the icy spots, maybe it's been too smooth sailing.
Monday commutes, in the morning and in the evening were an adventure. Traffic reports from Tuesday morning's rush hour suggest there are still bumps in the road, so to speak.
On social media, commenters sized up the situation, deploring and defending the plowing jobs on local roads. See the Storify above (or at Storify.com) for a sampling from Twitter. Use the scroll bar to the right of the comments to see all of them.
Timely advice: "Double your expected commute and travel times," Lt. Eric Roeske of the Minnesota State Patrol told Patch, "and expect icy patches and slippery spots." (The State Patrol investigated a snowplow-SUV crash on University Avenue NE in Fridley Monday.)
How have the roads been for you since the Winter Storm Caesar barreled through? Leave a comment below or upload a photo to this post.

Agreed. It took me 20 minutes to go from Osborne to 73rd on University this morning. The roads are awful. MNDOT needs to be ashamed of themselves.
