Mark Mauer has resigned as head varsity football coach at Hill-Murray School, according to media reports Monday afternoon.
His resignation is effective immediately, according to KSTP-TV.
Fridley Patch reported Friday that the defendants included Mauer, in his first year as coach at Hill-Murray. He had previously coached for several schools at the college level, played quarterback for the University of Nebraska Cornhuskers, and served briefly as a St. Paul City Council member.
Mauer also worked as a major-gifts officer at Hill-Murray, the Star Tribune reported.
