Heat Wave Sinks Broomball's First Week in Fridley
Puddles on the ice delay men's and co-rec competition.
The warm weather had a clean sweep this week: No broomball games at Fridley's Commons Park.
Fridley is a popular place for adult recreational broomball action, but the recent heat wave is not cooperating with the scheduled start of league play this week.
The City of Fridley announced Monday:
Due to the unseasonably warm weather, the Commons Park ice rinks are currently under water and with warm weather predicted for the rest of the week games will be cancelled for this Tuesday, December 13th and Thursday, December 15th.
We will make up the games canceled at the end of the season. For Co-Rec Broomball the make-up for Dec. 13th will January 17th and then start play-offs on the 24th of January and for Men’s Broomball, games cancelled on Thursday, December 15th will be made up on Thursday, February 2nd.
