Fridley Water Dept. Crews Having a Busy 2013
Seven water main breaks over recent nine-day period.
A Fridley resident posted on Facebook on March 6, 2013:
"Major water main break in fridley. Kids need to be picked up from park terrace asap. It's a mess."
Was Wednesday's an especially bad break? Patch asked that of Fridley Public Works Director Jim Kosluchar. His reply by email on March 7:
Not particularly. We did have some additional time involved due to other utilities in the area. I believe the water was off for 2–3 hours in the area along Beech Street. We have had a large number of main breaks and service leaks so far in 2013; including seven total in the last nine days. Crews have been very busy dealing with these.
