Fridley's 'Jane Doe' Is Back in Anoka County Jail

More than six months since her arrest in a vacant Fridley home where police say she set up housekeeping, Tammy Thomas is back behind bars in Anoka. She has been at the MN Security Hospital in St. Peter since Nov. 21 for mental evaluation.

Tammy Anquinette Thomas has returned.

The woman known as Jane Doe until police traced her identity from a fingerprint on a drinking glass is back in Anoka County Jail where she spent most of August through November—including a record-setting stretch in a holding cell because she wouldn't cooperate with booking procedures such as giving her name and posing for a mugshot.

She wouldn't cooperate with a psychological evaluation either, so a judge ordered her to the Minnesota Security Hospital in St. Peter, MN, where staff could observe her behavior outside of the jail environment.

She faces numerous charges, some for taking up residence in a vacant house along East River Road in Fridley that was undergoing renovation. Others relate to the stolen vehicle prosecutors say she drove across Wisconsin to Fridley. Others arise from evidence of identity-theft activities that police say they found in the house and the vehicle. Still another is for scratching a jailer who tried to handcuff her before a court hearing at which she finally appeared strapped to a chair "like a dang maniac," in her words.

Bail is set at $60,000, according to the Anoka County Jail online inmate roster.
