Fridley Police: Burglary Happened while Riverview Terrace Residents Slept
Missing: Computer, video games and a purse with cash and credit cards.
Sometime during the night last Thursday or Friday, someone burglarized a home in the 6400 block of Riverview Terrace NE without waking up the residents, according to a crime alert from the Fridley Police Department.
Whoever broke in "may have entered" by way of a door that wasn't secured, the crime alert said. In the morning, the residents found a rock propping open their front storm door and their patio door open. A laptop, 20 video games and a purse were gone.
It's the same block where police caught a man last January after homeowners said they found him in a bedroom around 9 p.m. The suspect escaped, taking keys, and locked himself in the homeowners' vehicle, from which police were able to remove him and then arrest him.
Fridley police ask anyone with information about the incident last week to call 9-1-1 and ask to speak to a Fridley police officer. You may remain anonymous.
The key safety tip from the crime alert: "Check doors and windows to make sure they are secure."
