Fridley Man's Goal: Play Hockey in Every State

Jeff Keacher started in Fridley and is trying to play hockey in all 50 states and every Canadian province within six months, according to Yahoo Sports.

Before he hit the road in his Subaru in June, Keacher was a Fridley resident, as he explained in an email from the road Thursday:

Indeed, for the year prior to the start of the trip, I lived in Fridley and worked as a consultant at Medtronic. I grew up in Maple Grove and have also lived in Plymouth and St. Paul over the years, but I was impressed by how Fridley seemed to be both well-run and community-oriented. "Friendly Fridley" wasn't just a nickname, it was a reality.  

That said, I'm glad I missed the heat wave you guys experienced this summer. It was nice and cool in northern Canada.
