FOUND: Tikka the Lost Chocolate Lab Is Home Again
Owner's Patch announcement prompted neighbor's tweet and a call to Fridley police, who had taken the dog to Brighton Veterinary Hospital.
Tikka is home.
The much-loved pet went missing near Moore Lake Tuesday. Patch user Donna O., whose son recently became Tikka's owner, posted a Lost Dog announcement at Fridley Patch at 6:15 p.m:
My son's chocolate lab escaped her fence near Moore Lake beach. Tikka (pronounced Tee-ka) is about 50 pounds, a year old, blue collar, no tag (he just got her). If you see her, catch her or hear word of her, please call 612-708-0226.
THANK YOU!
Laura Morrison (@heyyoulaura) saw the announcement and at 7:30 p.m. contacted Fridley Patch on Twitter:
About 230 today a policeman came to our door and asked if we knew of anyone who has a choc. lab in the area...
Donna O's son had checked with Fridley police earlier in the day but checked back after seeing Morrison's message. At 8:30 p.m., she posted a comment with the good news on her original Patch announcement:
Tikka has been found! My son contacted the Fridley police as soon as I got a message from Chris, who forwarded a message from @heyoulaura. I don't know the details yet, but Tikka was at Brighton Vet Clinic. THANK YOU, Chris and @heyoulaura! The is the power of connectedness in action.
Thanks to Donna for giving a Fridley Patch announcement a try, to @heyyoulaura for passing along a good tip on Twitter, and to the Fridley Police Department and Brighton Animal Hospital, who care for animals in need throughout the year.
