11 Pot Plants in Fridley Basement, Police Say
Fridley couple faces marijuana, cocaine and meth charges.
Authorities have charged a Fridley woman and man with drug charges after finding marijuana plants, cocaine and methamphetamine in both a Minneapolis house "associated" with them and the house in the 4700 block of Third Street NE in Fridley, where they lived.
That's according to a report by KSTP and an Anoka County criminal complaint against the woman, Tina Dirks. The complaint said that law enforcement executed search warrants on both properties on December 12, 2012:
At the Minneapolis address, officers discovered 194 grams of cocaine and a 20-plant "marijuana grow" operation. The Fridley address was a property that surveillance indicated Defendant Daniel Dirks and his wife ... Tina Dirks ... lived at with their five children ranging in age from approximately six (6) to age 14. Daniel Dirks is currently charged in Hennepin County with the cocaine and marijuana grow cases.
In the Fridley house, police searched
a large basement area that was turned into a bedroom along with a utility room area. In that area, officers found 11 marijuana plants and two small bags of what would test positive for .23 grams of methamphetamine, a scheuld II controlled substance. Officers also found 10 individual bags of a green substance that field-tested positive for marijuana, weighing 251.44 grams. Also in the downstairs living area, officers located two handguns, specifically a loaded Glock .45 and a .22 pistol. The Glock .45 was stolen out of Crow Wing County.
Tina Dirks faces one count each for posession of marijuana and methamphetamine.
