Nominations Needed for Fridley Distinguished Alumni Award

Do you know a Fridley High School graduate who  has distinguished themselves in a manner which brings honor to their alma mater and who has given back to his/her local community through volunteer efforts?

If you do, why not nominate him or her for the Fridley School District's Distinguished Alumni Award open to alumni who have graduated at least 15 years ago.

Nominations are also being accepted for the Circle of Excellence Award. This award will be given to Fridley graduates who, through their excellence and contributions as a group, have brought honor to Fridley High School and to their community.

Nomination forms are available on the Fridley School District website  on the Alumni page. The application deadline is Aug. 15 and selections will be made by the Distinguished Alumni Committee by Sept. 1. The committee will host an awards dinner on Oct. 28.

Fridley School District Distinguished Alumni Award

Program Purpose: to honor distinguished alum, to connect with our past, and to generate interest and support with current student and staff.  Distinguished alumni exemplify the spirit of the IB Learner Profile.  This event helps today’s students touch and experience the past and see possible pathways to open up possibilities

Criteria

Nominees will have graduated from Fridley High School at least 15 years prior to their nomination.

Nominees will have distinguished themselves in their field or in their chosen life’s work.

Nominees will have conducted themselves, professionally and personally, in a manner which brings honor to their alma mater and to their community.

Nominees will have given back to their local or world community through their volunteer efforts.

Nominees exemplify the attributes of the International Baccalaureate Learner Profile.  They have demonstrated that they are:

  • An Inquirer
  • Caring
  • Principled
  • Knowledgeable
  • Balanced
  • A Risk Taker
  • Open Minded
  • A Communicator
  • Reflective
  • A Thinker
